ANALOG Signal
  • A signal that makes use of electrical or physical analogies; i. e. , varying voltages, frequencies, distances, etc. , to produce a signal of a continuous (rather than of a pulsed or discrete) nature.
  • A nominally continuous electrical signal that varies in some direct correlation to another signal impressed on a transducer. Note: The electrical signal may vary its frequency, phase, or amplitude, for instance, in response to changes in phenomena or characteristics such as sound, light, heat, position, or pressure. See also digital signal, signal.
