Benign Environment
  • A nonhostile envelope protected from external hostile elements by physical, personnel, and procedural security countermeasures. In this environment, the ADP system is protected at the system's highest level. All users are cleared for the highest level but a need-to-know is not required for all data. Reliance is placed on the ADP system for routing and need-to-know separation of data. (AR 380-380)
