We shall be embarking upon TechNet Europe 2007,literally, by holding the event on board the SILJA SERENADE, one of the SILJA Line ferries that sails between Stockholm and Helsinki: a ‘ferry’ that has 986 cabins, an exhibition space, an auditorium (that doubles as a late night disco!) That holds 300 people – and a shopping mall. The intention is to have a symposium and exhibition whilst alongside in Stockholm on Wednesday 17 October from 1000 to 1615, sail at 1700 and repeat the format alongside in Helsinki on Thursday 18 October from 1030 to 1615. So, with an unusual–indeed ‘unique’–venue for TechNet Europe don't lose sight of the fact that there is a thoroughly professional side to the whole event and that is to examine the integration of information from a diverse range of commercial, industrial and service sources and present it in the right format for those engaged in the business of defence.
