At this annual conference, we’ll take a peek at some of the latest technology developments and concepts that may (or may not) be deployed in the next five to twenty years. We’ll look at technologies that are embryonic and emergent; technologies that are ready to come to market with new capabilities; and technologies not yet mastered, though potentially powerful if they ever come to fruition. Exciting, disruptive breakthroughs are occurring in numerous fields: chips, displays, storage, networking and communications, search, media, biotechnology, health devices, robotics, vision, speech and voice recognition, presence, bionics, medicine, MEMS, and nanotechnology. We will speculate on and try to assess the impact of these breakthroughs on our lives and work.
